Freeze-dried coffee production process

Freeze-dried coffee is instant coffee that converts coffee extract into solid particles through freeze-drying technology, which can better preserve the flavor and aroma of coffee. The process flow is as follows:

Coffee extraction:

After the roasted coffee beans are ground, they are extracted with hot water under high pressure to obtain a high-concentration coffee liquid.

Pre-freezing:

The coffee liquid is rapidly frozen into a solid state below -40°C to form an ice crystal structure.

Vacuum drying:

In a vacuum environment, the ice crystals are directly sublimated (solid → gas) by heating, removing moisture and leaving porous coffee particles.

Grinding and packaging:

The dried coffee blocks are crushed into uniform particles and packed with nitrogen to extend the shelf life.

Advantages:

The low-temperature process retains more aromatic substances, and the flavor is close to freshly ground coffee.

It dissolves quickly and can be brewed with hot or cold water.

We can assist our customers for producing the FD coffees by offering the drying parameters.
